This Morning viewers are NOT AMUSED with Holly and Phil’s replacements

The show regulars are off for half term

If there’s one thing fans of This Morning don’t like, it’s change – and unexpected change, at that – so emotions were running high today when This Morning began at 10:30 with the usual title sequence showing Phil and Holly walking to work, posing for selfies etc.

But fans were horrified, as the studio came into view, to see the usual hosts were nowhere to be seen – with Ben Shephard and Amanda Holden in their place.

And they immediately took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at the unexpected change of hosts.

One said: “I want Holly and Phil!” and illustrated her pain with some broken heart emojis.

And another said:  “Where are @schofe and @hollywills? Just when I thought my Monday couldn’t get any worse.”

Ben was presenting while wearing a special cast on his foot, after explaining that he’d hurt himself playing with his kids – and was worried that if Digby the studio dog got loose, he’d have to hop after him.

But viewers had little sympathy, and instead continued to query why Holly and Phil were absent.

The presenting duo gamely ploughed on through the show’s opening segments, including a chat with TOWIE star Gemma Collins.

She was describing her embarrassment at falling through a stage during the weekend’s Radio 1 Teen Choice awards, and dropped a potential hint about her future plans.

When asked whether she had any grudge towards the BBC, she cheekily replied: “All will be forgiven with the BBC if they give me a slot on Strictly next year.”

This prompted gales of laughter from Ben and Amanda.

And viewers were left further unimpressed with a lengthy portion of the programme given over to the ex-wife of “Hot Felon” Jeremy Meeks, who spent her time on the sofa sobbing.
