Nadia Sawalha has emotionally hit back at claims she called Coleen Nolan “fat” on Loose Women.
During Wednesday’s show, Coleen joked that Nadia had called her “fat” after the panellist forgot to finish her sentence during a discussion about whether it’s okay to joke about your partner’s weight.
After Coleen said her family tease her about her weight, Nadia said: “But I don’t think you can be throwing away funny comments about people’s weight unless you really know them because it can be so hurtful.

“But you’re very comfortable with your fa…” as she stopped in her tracks and started saying something else.
Coleen jumped in, joking: “With my fat?!” before adding: “You were going to say family, weren’t you.”
Nadia replied: “Yeah, you would be happy with your family saying that. I mean, we all know we’re overweight, let’s not joke about it.”
But Nadia took to social media to slam claims she said “fat”, insisting she was about to say “family”.

In the clip, she said: “So I’m actually really quite fed up, well a bit upset actually that there are headlines going around saying I could Coleen fat on Loose Women today.
“I did not. I was going to say the word ‘family’ and I got interrupted and that was it. Coleen and I joked about it and I just find it so depressing.
“Body confidence is something I really struggle with and something I try to do so much about on my social media.
“I pride myself being a woman’s woman and really understanding and looking into the whole experience of being somebody who struggles with the way that they look.”
She captioned the post: “Really upset with how quickly the media want to leap on anything they feel can turn women against women. The headlines aren’t true.

Fans offered support to Nadia, with one replying: “Don’t apologise we all know you would never say such a thing Coleen knows that.”
Another wrote: “Don’t worry Nadia, we watched the show and you didn’t call her fat, you were going to say family, and you happened to be interrupted. End of!!!!”
A third added: “Nadia as long as you and Coleen know the truth. You know you’re a good person and a woman’s woman.”
