A ‘mini heatwave’ will see the UK enjoy record temperatures of 20C, according to weather experts.
The Met Office believes the bar for the hottest day in February ever may be set in the next few days thanks to plumes of warm air coming in from the Sahara.
However, heavy rain is expected across Britain before the unseasonal weather hits.
Winds are also predicted to sweep across the country ahead of Saturday’s potential scorcher.

Forecasters have also indicated it could end up hotter in the UK than in Australia, which has been experiencing highs of around 17C recently.
The large area of high pressure moving across from northern Africa and the Canary Islands is also expected to lead to sunny periods, too.
Meteorologists also believe it indicates another sweltering summer is on the way.
Until then the Met Office predicts wet and windy for tonight the north but it is expected to stay dry in the south.

Rainy spells will continue in the north and west of England on Wednesday.
According to the BBC the north-west will experience some patchy drizzle on Thursday after a cloudy morning.
However, it will be brighter in the south with very mild weather expected on Friday and Saturday.
That generally fine weather means some parts of the country may be in a position to break the record of 19.7C set in 1998.
