Pete Wicks takes a break from TOWIE amid Megan McKenna drama

Will he come back for the next series?

The Only Way Is Essex cast is forever embroiled in one drama or another – but it seems it’s become too much for one of the lads.

Pete Wicks hasn’t had any peace since splitting from his fiery girlfriend Megan McKenna, and he’s now decided that he “needs a break” from the show.

The 28-year-old heartthrob has admitted that he’s been left mentally drained, and needs a rest now.

We’re not surprised! The fallout from his breakup has even left him rowing with his mates.

Talking to The Sun, he said: “The show has been tough. It has definitely been a hard series and I need this break; I need to concentrate on myself.”

He added: “It has felt like a long time since we started filming this year; TOWIE can be mentally draining sometimes.”

Pete and Megan have had one of the rockiest relationships the nation has ever seen. The finale saw them finally be civil with one another, after an argument over Pete’s friendship with co-star Chloe Sims a couple of weeks ago.

But despite them making up, it has been reported that he might not come back for series 21 later in the year.

A source close to the star said: “Pete is looking to this series coming to an end – it’s been a stressful few weeks and the situation with Megan is beginning to take its toll.

“Sometimes he’s wondered whether it’s all worth it and is currently at odds whether or not to return.”

But in his chat with The Sun, Pete himself stated: “Hopefully by the next series I will be fully loaded.”

Does that mean he will return? Confusing much?!

The drama with Chloe Sims took its toll on her too, as she recently posted a rant to her Instagram account.

She wanted to put the rumours right and tell everybody that her and Pete were just friends and she had “no romantic interest” in him despite all the gossip.

She wrote: “It’s extremely disappointing that certain people have tried to make it look like anything more, when all involved know full well were just friends! I’m no one scapegoat 👎🏼✌🏼 [sic]️”.

We think everybody might need a break from the show after this series!
