Tom Daley accused of ‘animal cruelty’ after latest social media pic

The star's fans were unimpressed with his latest post

Olympic diver Tom Daley has been accused of “animal cruelty” after his latest Instagram post which shows the star posing with a ferret.

Sharing the GIF to his 1.8 million followers Tom can be seen grinning as he holds the ferret in the air.

But some of his fans were not happy with his post and accused the star of causing harm to the animal.

One angry follower wrote: “Who let you hold it? That’s animal cruelty. Ferrets must be held a certain way or you risk hurting it severely.”

Another added: “It’s mean that you are playing an animal like that.”

“The poor little guy looks scared,” a third commented.

A fourth wrote: “Umm that’s not how you hold a ferret. You could hurt it holding it like that.”

But others were quick to defend the 22-year-old as one said: “For gods sake, he isn’t handling it wrong, it isn’t distressed and he isn’t swinging it.”

“People saying he’s holding it wrong or it looks scared its handler is there in the pic do you really think he would let him handle it wrong,” another said.

The newlyweds shared photos of their special day on Instagram.

Olympic diver Tom shared a photo of them walking down the aisle surrounded by their “closest friends and family”

He wrote: “On 6th May 2017, I married the love of my life, @dlanceblack.

“We shared the day with 120 of our closest friends and family, from Texarkana to Plymouth!

“Thank you to everyone who made this weekend the most special weekend of our lives.”

Screenwriter Dustin also shared a heartwarming snap of their big day to his 216K followers.

He captioned the photo: “So… what did you do this weekend?”

Fans were quick to congratulate the couple with one writing: “The surroundings and the couple are mesmerizing. Congratulations!”
