And there’s no scrimping – for that bargain price she’s got turkey, roast winter veggies, stuffing balls, pigs in blankets and gravy.

Claire, from Staffordshire, told her social media followers she bought a £60 Christmas hamper from MuscleFood, and extras from discount retailers, to keep the cost down.

And she reckons her hamper haul will leave her with a fortnight of leftovers, including bacon and potato tray bake for 60p per serving, and sausage stir fry for only 37p!

Plus there’s turkey tikka masala for £1.07 per person and turkey pie at £1.10.

Claire said: “Three children means Christmas is a costly time of year so looking closely at how much things cost, even the big festive meal, is a really important part of my budgeting.

“You’d be so surprised how many meals you can make out of foods and leftovers.”
