Thomas Markle: “It would be easier for Meghan if I died.”

The relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and her father was put under the spotlight in the lead-up to the royal wedding, when Thomas was found to have sold photos to the paparazzi.

He was then forced to step down from his wedding duties because of serious health concerns.

More recently, he gave an interview on Good Morning Britain, during which he gave away details of a private conversation with Prince Harry.

The former lighting director claimed that he hasn’t spoken to Meghan in weeks.

And now he’s given a detailed interview to the Mail Online, in which he says Princess Diana would “loathe” the way he’s treated.

“They have Meghan treating her father in a way that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, would have loathed,” he said. “That’s not what Diana stood for.

He claims that the direct line he was given to Meghan’s aides has been cut off.

Thomas commented on his heart problems, claiming that he has a philosophical attitude to the idea of his own death.

“Perhaps it would be easier for Meghan if I died,” he said. “Everybody would be filled with sympathy for her.

“But I hope we reconcile. I’d hate to die without speaking to Meghan again.”

He claimed that his efforts to apologise to the Royal Family for his gaffes had been rebuffed, and the he didn’t know how they expected him to behave.

“I tell you, I’ve just about reached my limit with Meghan and the Royal Family,” he said. “They want me to be silent, they want me to just go away. But I won’t be silenced.”

Thomas claimed he was worried that if Meghan and Harry decided to start a family he would be barred from meeting his grandchildren.
