Alison Hammond has signed up to replace Rylan Clark-Neal on BBC Radio 2.
The This Morning presenter will be taking over for three weeks so the former X Factor star can take a break.
Rylan’s been working flat-out during COVID-19 and he’s called on Alison to help him out so he can spend some time with his friends and family.
Alison announced the exciting news on her Instagram on Monday.
Alison’s bagged a BBC Radio 2 slot
She told fans: “So have you heard the news? I’m looking after the @Rylan show on @bbcradio2 for the next three weeks and would love to hear from you.
“Looking for your cooling down hacks and your inspirational quotes that you live by. See you Saturday 3pm on @bbcradio2!”
Rylan then replied: “I can’t wait to listen!”
Alison’s fans were over the moon at the prospect of getting to tune into her every Saturday morning.
“Excited for your opportunities on Radio and as This Morning host. Thoroughly deserved,” said one of her followers.
“Fantastic news, good on you” responded another.
Rylan set for The One Show job?
Rylan could be set to bag yet another job if fans of The One Show get their way.
Following his week-long stint on the BBC series, viewers rushed to urge the broadcaster to invite him back for even longer next time.
One fan wrote: “I think it’s fair to say @Rylan is a national treasure now, don’t you? I love him. #theoneshow.”
“@Rylan been amazing this week,” said a fifth. “Absolutely brightens my day. @Rylan and @MissAlexjones are perfect presenters together, hopefully @Rylan will come back,” said another viewer.
“Please tell Rylan he’s been amazing this week!” another said. “Hope he’ll be back presenting again soon.”
The star has recently been hard at work completing the next series of Supermarket Sweep, and fans recently saw him on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox too.
The BBC is yet to confirm who will replace Matt Baker as the show’s new permanent host after the star departed earlier this year.
Some viewers have called for Welsh presenter Gethin Jones to be Matt’s replacement.
