“A friend was like, ‘You have to meet Elin, she’s amazing,” he told The Sun. “So I texted her a couple of times to say hello. She lives in Florida. She’s a really great girl.”

The Bush frontman, whose ex-wife Gwen Stefani dates her fellow The Voice USA mentor Blake Sheldon, claimed he had never actually met Elin, as he was based in Los Angeles.

But there were rumours of a budding romance between the pair last September.

“Elin flies to LA on her private plane a lot,” said a source at the time. “They want to make it work.”

Gavin, 51, has sons Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and Apollo, three, with Gwen. He is also the father of model Daisy Lowe, 28, following a brief relationship with her mother Pearl.

And Gavin revealed he was worried his brood might put potential new partners off!

“I look at my boys running around the house with Nerf guns and throwing footballs and think, ‘How would anyone survive?’”

But Swedish former model Elin, 37, has daughter Sam, nine, and son Charlie, eight, with Tiger, so she’s probably used to little ones ruling the roost!

Her divorce from Tiger was finalised in 2010 after revelations that he had been repeatedly unfaithful.

Gavin and Gwen, who met in 1995 when their bands were on tour together, split in 2015 after rumours that he’d had a fling with their children’s nanny. He has spoken about the “pain and sadness” of going through a marital breakdown.

“[Divorce] was completely the opposite to what I wanted,” he said. “Really not… but here we are. Apart from death, I think divorce is one of the hardest, most painful things to go through.

“The one thing – the only good thing, because everything else is not so good – is we care about the children and it’s about them. So we do everything to make this life change as seamless as possible.”

Gavin has recently been spending time in his native UK while he films The Voice, and has said that he would love to rejoin the series if he was asked.

“I’ve really, really enjoyed it,” he said. “There’s been no time when I’ve regretted doing it.

“There’s something really special about taking what you have given your whole life to – like for me, music – and then mentoring people who want to do it.”
