The Queen recycles royal wedding outfit during outing with Kate and William

She looked stunning in lime green

| Updated:

The Queen was pictured wearing the same outfit she wore to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding last year during a royal outing this week.

Her Majesty visited Kate’s woodland garden at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday alongside her grandson, Prince William.

The Queen wore the same lime green coat and floral dress she wore at Meghan and Harry’s wedding at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May last year.

The 93-year-old smiled happily as she was shown around the garden, which was designed to promote the wellbeing benefits of getting outdoors.

As Her Majesty was photographed during her visit, many fans took to Twitter to discuss the outfit.

Many were convinced it was a tribute to Meghan and Harry as they recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

One person said: “Looks like the Queen and Kate were BOTH out supporting Meghan and Harry following their one year wedding anniversary.

“Both wore recycled outfits from the #Sussexes wedding.”

Another wrote: “The Queen wore the same outfit from Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s Wedding to the Garden. The Queen looks beautiful.”

A third added: “Love the Queen’s outfit today. Paying homage to Harry and Meghan’s 1st wedding Anniversary!”

Another wrote: “Awesome gesture by Her Majesty and fantastic acknowledgement to the #DukeAndDuchessOfSussex for their 1st Wedding Anniversary. Love this amazing lady so much!”

It comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed their first child, son Archie, on May 6, marked their first anniversary by sharing unseen photos from their special day.

The post included one snap of Harry in his uniform alongside brother Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, as he prepared to marry Meghan.

Another showed Meghan beaming alongside her mother, Doria Ragland, and another saw the couple with their page boys and bridesmaids.

One also showed Meghan walking down the aisle with Harry’s dad Prince Charles.

The video ended with the message: “Thank you for making the memory of this day so special.”
