The X Factor hit by CRISIS in week one

Are viewers trying to tell Simon something?

| Updated:

Your Saturday night starts here… or maybe not as the case may be on 2017’s new X Factor.

Every year the press are quick to jump on the show’s audience figures but it seems that this year Simon Cowell and co may actually have something to worry about.

Although the programme was trending on Twitter and seemed to be going down well with fans across the country, it appears the first-night viewing figures could have done with a bit of a boost.

The opening show of the new series was 600,000 less than last year’s first show which saw 7.5 million viewers on launch night; in fact 2017’s opener is the lowest recorded since the show started in 2004.

Last night’s show saw several promising new singers as well as a few of the not so good ones!

Judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger were on top form, and were even being nice to each other – ah, well there’s your problem Simon!

Nobody wants to see the Judges getting on!

But there were plenty of positive comments for the new acts on show, even former finalist Fleur East got involved.

And other viewers were also impressed.

Of course everybody’s favourite host with the most Dermot O’Leary was also on hand to keep the audition room in order and give out his world famous Dermot hugs.

Let’s hope it was just down to everybody still being away on their summer holidays and viewing figures pick up before the return of arch-rival Strictly Come Dancing.
