The Chase viewers appalled by contestant’s HUGE blunder on show

Did he really say that?

The Chase viewers were left outraged by a contestant who mistook Buzz Aldrin for fictional character Buzz Lightyear.

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin was one of the first men to ever walk on the moon in 1969.

But the contestant on ITV’s game show got Buzz completely mistaken for someone who isn’t even human!

Contestant Andy faced Chaser Paul, but viewers were left shocked by his answer on the very first question.

Presenter Bradley Walsh asked: “Who was the first American to take a selfie during a spacewalk”.

Andy replied: “I don’t have a clue. I think Buzz is… Buzz Lightyear.

“I know he’s a real astronaut but…”

Andy finally chose Alan Shepard as his answer before it was revealed that the correct answer was in fact Buzz.

Bradley joked: “It was Woody that took it.”

Viewers quickly took to Twitter to react to the hilarious mistake, in shock at how he could even get the two mixed up.

One said: “Idiot on #TheChase thought Buzz Lightyear was a real astronaut  How do these people get on.”

Another added: “Did that guy really think buzz aldrin was mr light year? #oh dear lol #thechase”
