The Chase star Jenny Ryan ‘signs up to Celebrity X Factor’

And she could surprise a few people...

| Updated:

The first-ever celebrity edition of The X Factor is going to be a cracker, if the line-up rumours are anything to go by.

According to reports, some of the country’s best-loved soap and reality stars are set to appear on the show – one of two special editions of the ITV singing contest due to be screened later this year.

And now it’s been claimed that a well-known quiz-show star is also in the frame to sing on Simon Cowell’s new programme.

The Sun Online has claimed that The Chase brainbox Jenny Ryan – aka The Vixen – could be gracing the stage…

A TV insider told The Sun’s website: “If people are surprised by the name, they’ll be even more taken aback by just how good Jenny’s voice is.

“She might just turn out to be the dark horse of Celebrity X Factor.”

Ent Daily has contacted reps for Jenny and The X Factor for comment.

People shouldn’t be too surprised if Jenny, 37, wows the judges, though.

Back in 2017, she and her fellow Chasers won the BBC’s talent contest Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, performing a selection of songs from The Wizard of Oz.

And she’s also the lead singer of a ukelele band – the Nanukes of the North – in her hometown of Bolton.

The gossip press has been rife with rumours about who will be appearing on Celebrity X Factor.

Former Love Island contestants Eyal Brooker, Samira Mighty, Zara McDermott and Wes Nelson are rumoured to be taking part as a ‘supergroup’.

And it’s also been suggested that Corrie actresses Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) and Victoria Ekanoye (Angie Appleton) are on the producers’ radar.

Celebrity X Factor will reportedly run alongside a ‘champions’ edition of the show, which will see former winners competing against each other.

It’s hoped that the two new formats will revive the show’s fortunes, with viewing figures having fallen dramatically since its heyday.

Simon Cowell told The Sun: “The time feels right, and it will be a huge change.

“We haven’t exactly confirmed the dates or the order of the shows, but essentially there are going to be two versions of X Factor running this year.

“I think it’s going to be huge. It’s the best I’ve felt about this show in years.”
