The Chase star Anne Hegerty tells Paul Sinha ‘chin up’ as he reveals racist abuse

Anne Hegerty supported fellow The Chase star Paul Sinha and told him “chin up” as he revealed abuse he received from a racist troll.

Writing on Twitter earlier today (Monday, September 21), the Sinnerman poked fun at his latest anonymous abuser. Paul joked about feeling “delighted” that the man, while coming out with racist bile, didn’t seem to be homophobic.

What did The Chase star Paul Sinha say, and how did Anne Hegerty respond?

The gay comic and quizzer, 50, tweeted: “Great to get fanmail asking me to ‘stick to day job’, and that the country is ‘overwhelmed by Asian comics’.

“I feel genuinely delighted that he seemed to be totally free of homophobia.”

His colleague from The Chase, Anne Hegerty, replied with a message of support.

“The [bleeps] ye have always with you, as Our Lord meant to say,” said the Governess, using the word rhyming with bankers. She added: “Chin up.”

What did Anne Hegerty’s followers say?

“I didn’t know you were such a potty mouth Anne,” said one of her shocked followers. “Good on you, girl.”

Another said, with a crying-laughing emoji: “You say what you think, Anne. Don’t you hold back. Brilliant.”

“Language, Timothy,” said a third.

Paul has previously joked that his Parkinson’s is getting in the way of his sex life.

The Chase star mocked the disease on social media earlier this month – and got fans laughing by comparing it to “living in the United Arab Emirates”.

On Twitter, the British quiz champ quipped that sex was “out of the question” for him.

He had his fans in hysterics as he tweeted: “Having Parkinson’s is like living in the UAE.

“The sheikhs control your life, gay sex is out of the question, and there are a hell of a lot of parking spots.”
