We were heartbroken when she revealed she had cancer, but now former Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty has some good news.

She has announced that she is in remission, and we are so pleased to hear it.

The 46-year old actress had been diagnosed with breast cancer way back in February 2015 and has since undergone both chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.

But now it looks like the cancer has been obliterated.

In a new blog, she wrote: “Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment. What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting.”

She continued: “As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial.

“Reoccurrences happen all the time. Many of you have shared that very story with me.

“So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait.”However, even though the worst seems to be over, Shannen admits that there is still much to think about as she lives life as a cancer survivor.

“In the meantime,” she wrote. “decisions. Reconstruction which is several surgeries.

“Decision on taking a pill for the next five years that comes with its own set of problems and side effects.

“I am blessed, I know that. But for now…. remission. I’m going to just breathe. #cancerslayer.”

Messages flooded in from her fans on Instagram.

One wrote: “I am so happy for you. I’ve watched your journey and seen the pain. May you be blessed with a permanent remission. Love and Lighy.” [sic]

Another said: “I know exactly how you feel… I’m a few months ahead of you and although it’s always there, just let the process of living life take over xx”

A third commented: “I can SO relate! I just started Tamoxifen in February and the initial side effects have lessened. Be at peace with whatever you choose to do from here. Give your body time to heal and reset.”

It was only last month that Shannen had revealed that she had completed her chemotherapy and radiation treatments and that she was waiting to hear if they had actually worked.

“Now that I’m done with chemo and radiation, the waiting game is here,” she had said.

“Waiting for test. Waiting to see if I’m clear or not.”

“Waiting for reconstruction.”

The gorgeous Charmed actress, who also starred in the cult film Heathers, says that one of the hardest parts of the whole cancer situation is having to wait to find out about things.

“Waiting. I think when one gets cancer, they are always waiting to a certain extent,” she explained. “To those who know… I’m waiting with you.”

Now with a positive future ahead of her, we reckon Shannen must be thrilled to have put all that icky treatment behind her.

When she embarked on her radiation therapy a while back the brave Miss admitted that the process terrified her.

“First day of radiation treatment. I look like I’m about to make a run for it which is accurate. Radiation is frightening to me.

“Something about not being able to see the laser, see the treatment and having this machine moving around you just scares me. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but right now…. I hate it. #radiation #radiationmondaysucks #stillfightinglikeagirl (sic).”

Well, we’re thrilled that all that gruelling treatment has been successful, so congratulations Shannen.
