Forget waiting for Christmas – waiting for Dancing on Ice to begin has been the hardest part of this winter!

Just hours before the new series starts, Holly Willoughby got the hype factor off the scales with an exciting Instagram video.

In the clip, she and Phillip Schofield promise “The greatest show on ice” as 12 celebrities do battle for the DOI crown.

And although Phil looked dapper as always in his smart blue suit, fans only had eyes for Holly – and her stunning dress.

The mum of three oozed glamour in the plunging powder blue gown.

It featured a choker neck with a pussybow tie at the side, and a daring deep neckline.

Unfortunately her microphone also took pride of place in the middle of the choker, but that didn’t detract from the overall impact!

Holly also showed off the her tan from a recent family holiday to Barbados.

Fans flooded the video with comments about the dress, with one writing: “That dress is stunning”.

But several simply commented “That dress” and left it at that.

Dancing on Ice kicks off at 6pm tonight on ITV, and features celebrities including Love Island’s Kem Cetinay, Bake Off’s Candice Brown and Bucks Fizz star Cheryl Baker.

It marks Holly’s return to the ice, as Phillip Schofield’s co-host of the last series was Christine Bleakley (now Lampard) in 2014.

On Friday, Phil let slip another piece of gossip from the show – how he and Holly are able to walk around the ice without skates.

He told This Morning: “If Holly and I go out onto the ice they put white carpet out and we walk in our normal shoes on white carpet.”

“If we have to go out without the white carpet, there are special snow gripper things that you can put on the bottom of your shoes so you don’t fall over.”

We’d always wondered!
