Strictly’s Aliona Vilani is taking LEGAL ACTION against Johnny Ball

She's not happy with his allegations

Remember veteran TV star Johnny Ball’s appearance on Strictly back in 2012?

You’d be forgiven if you didn’t, as he was voted off in the first round of the competition alongside partner Iveta Lukosuite.

But things could have turned out very differently, had Johnny stuck with his original partner, Aliona Vilani.

Unfortunately Aliona was forced to withdraw in the early stages with an ankle injury, leaving Johnny with his new professional.

All fairly straightforward – until Johnny Ball alleged earlier this month on Good Morning Britain that Aliona had falsified her injury to get out of dancing with him.

He told hosts: “Aliona supposedly broke her leg. She did not at all.”

Johnny then went on to say that rather than appear on the BBC dancing contest, Aliana “went to the south of France with her boyfriend” the weekend after.

Aliana has taken the accusation about as well as you’d expect – immediately going to Twitter to blast her accuser and let him know he can expect a call from her lawyers soon.

She wrote: “I am aware that Johnny Ball has made allegations regarding my fractured ankle during 2012 SCD, which I strongly deny.

“I have instructed solicitors and am taking legal action in relation to his allegations. It’s therefore not appropriate to comment further at this time.”

Johnny, 79, is the father of It Takes Two host Zoe Ball, and also accused his eventual partner Iveta of devising a routine she knew would be too difficult for him.

Aliana, 33, is the only professional to have won the contest twice – once with Harry Judd, and again in 2015 with The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness.

She recently gave birth to her first child with sales director Vincent Kavenagh, and could doubtless do without this headache.

We’ll see what happens next- but it looks like, just as in Strictly in 2012, Johnny’s put his foot in it!
