Strictly stars deny romance rumours on This Morning

Will they or won't they?

It’s been the talk of the series ever since their first dance together – is there more to Davood Ghadami and Nadiya Bychkova’s relationship than just professional courtesy?

On the one hand, EastEnders star Davood is happily married and Nadiya is also in a relationship.

But on the other, their sizzling chemistry on stage has had fans’ tongues wagging for weeks.

And even judge Bruno Tonioli got in on the act, describing one racy routine as looking like Davood was taking Nadiya “straight to the bedroom.”

And so of course when the gorgeous pair were invited onto the This Morning sofa, presenters Ben Shephard and Amanda Holden had to ask them about the rumours.

After some small talk about the show – and how much Davood’s kids love Jonnie Peacock – substitute host Ben, standing in for Phillip Schofield who’s on holiday for half-term, asked the question on everyone’s lips.

He asked the pair: “How do your partners deal with the headlines about you two, and you being in such close proximity?”

But Davood coolly batted off the suggestion, replying: “For me as an actor I’m in intimate situations all the time – I do like to separate work from home as much as possible, as difficult as it is.”

He continued: “When you’re playing a character… You’re a dancer, and you’re doing a job. You don’t have time to think of anything apart from where your feet, and hips are going!”

Nadiya was similarly laid back, admitting that her boyfriend was ok with her steamy routines, as “he knows how it works.”

Ben then took the opportunity to ask Nadiya how her partner coped when she posed for a sizzling Playboy magazine photoshoots, and Nadiya said: “I’m very proud of what I did, I loved every picture so it’s not complicated for us – it’s just how it is.”

Earlier in the interview Nadiya had discussed how much difficulty the pair were likely to face at Halloween’s dance, as they were tackling a tricky rumba.

She said: “It’s the most difficult dance for men to do. It’s not the most energetic, but there are so many things going on to make it look right.”

Davood suggested that a rumba was all in the hips, so he challenged Ben to stand up and show off his own moves as well.

Whereupon Amanda suggested that she should tuck a £5 note down his jeans to say thanks!

We’ll see how the glamorous pair get on with their rumba this weekend on Strictly – and we can’t see these rumours going away any time soon…
