Strictly curse strikes again as celeb contestant splits with lover

Break-up came just hours after a big declaration of togetherness - awkward!

Uh-oh, that well-fabled Strictly Come Dancing curse – which ’causes’ contestants to split with their lovers – has struck again. Kinda!

Celebrity dancer Daisy Lowe has split from her boyfriend, despite happily speaking about him in a TV interview just hours earlier.

Ouch!

The model appeared on ITV’s Lorraine on Friday and discussed those pesky “Strictly curse” rumours, denying that there is anything going on between her and dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

Referring to Aljaz – who is dating fellow pro dancer Janette Manrara – as her “brother”, she referenced her own beau Bradley “Frankie” Wade and said they all hang out together.

Lorraine mentioned the “curse” – which has seen several stars over the years split from their other half to end up embarking on a romance with their dance partner – but Daisy said that would not happen.

She said: “I’m so in love with Janette and Aljaz as a couple together, and I have my boyfriend, and we hang out all together. Aljaz is my brother.”

But now Daisy, 27, has confirmed that it’s actually over for her and Frankie, although it’s certainly not down to any romantic feelings between herself and Aljaz.

A spokesperson for Daisy told MailOnline: “Daisy and Frankie have had a discussion and decided to call it a day due to their mutually busy schedules.”

It was first reported in The Sun that they had parted ways and had decided they were “better off as friends” after dating since August.

After falling into the bottom two for two weeks in a row on the BBC dancing programme, Daisy and Aljaz spent more time rehearsing on their routines, which put an extra strain on her relationship with Frankie.

Frankie, a part-time actor and model, had been seen supporting Daisy in the audience while performing her Strictly routines.
