Strictly Come Dancing stars reportedly fear Shirley Ballas ‘curse’

Contestants DO NOT want her forgetting their names...

Move over, flirty dance partners – there’s a new Strictly curse in town.

New head judge Shirley Ballas is the force behind the latest worry for contestants – and it’s all to do with her getting names wrong!

It looks like once Shirley muddles up your name, you’re a goner.

In week one, Shirley mistakenly called Holby City star  Chizzy Akudolu ‘Lizzie’.

The following week, Chizzy was booted off the show.

Last week it was Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins’ turn to be on the receiving end of a name mix up, as Shirley addressed her as ‘Mollie’.

The next day, Charlotte was eliminated.

Speaking to The Daily Star, a source said: “There is a genuine feeling that if Shirley gets your name wrong then you are doomed.”

“It’s like a witch’s hex. Some are even thinking about wearing name badges.”

Her habit for muddling names has incurred the wrath of Charlotte’s GMB co-star Piers Morgan.

He fumed on the show: “You see Mary, Mary Ballas, her name isn’t Mollie, her name is Charlotte and after two weeks of attacking her, you can’t even give her the respect of remembering her name.

“No wonder viewers aren’t invested in our colleague, because you, Mary Ballas, couldn’t even be bothered to get her name right.”

He went on to claim he was ‘launching a campaign to bring down Mary Ballas’.

“Her name will be forever Mary Ballas, there is now a campaign to bring down Mary Ballas,” he continued.

A showdown between Piers and Shirley would definitely be must-see TV!
