Strictly Come Dancing’s Susannah Constantine injured in training

What terrible timing!

| Updated:

Oh dear – just hours before the new series of Strictly is due to start, Susannah Constantine has only gone and injured herself.

The fashion presenter, 56, took to Instagram to break the news to her fans, and while she didn’t explain what happened, she did admit that the injury “hurts like hell”.

So, will she be taking part in the show or won’t she?

Wearing a pair of thick-rimmed glasses, the What Not To Wear star said in the clip: “Spoiler alert… I’m not going to tell you what I’m going to tell you because I want sympathy.

“I’m not telling you because I’m complaining. I’m just telling you how it is.

“(On Wednesday) I pulled my intercostal muscles [in my chest] – and it [expletive] hurts like hell.

“But you know what? My feet still work, my arms still work, my legs still work, my top line works – whatever that is.”

At that point, she finally put fans out of their misery by revealing that she WILL be hitting the dancefloor.

She said: “So wild horses wouldn’t keep me away from competing in this wonderful show. And I will stay the course for Strictly 2018 until I’m dragged off by my hair, or by my partner. Night night!”

But that didn’t stop Susannah’s followers offering some sympathy.

One wrote: “Oooh no… poor you… that sounds horrendous!!!! Hope you get better really quickly!!! xx.”

And another added: “Ouch, so sorry to hear this… take it gently and I am sure you’ll be fine… you’d better be… I’ve got 20 quid on you at Ladbrokes!”

Meanwhile, Susannah has hit back at suggestions that this year’s line-up is a little lacklustre.

Steps star Faye Tozer, YouTuber Joe Sugg and This Morning’s resident medic Dr Ranj Singh are among those who will be strutting their stuff when the show starts tonight (BBC One, 7.35pm).

And Susannah – who was the last celebrity to be announced for this series – snapped: “It’s just, like, for [expletive] sake. I’m sorry but get over yourself.
