Strictly Come Dancing couple Ola and James Jordan have said they’re trying for a baby.
The dancers, who married in 2003, told The Sun on Sunday they’ve always wanted to have a family but the time was never right because of job opportunities that came their way.
After leaving Strictly, Ola competed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! while James took part in Celebrity Big Brother.
They’re also toured with their own dance production.
But the couple were forced to postpone their planned 2018 tour after James suffered an injury that required surgery.
Ola, 35, said: “There was always something, but at the same time having children was always in the back of my mind. It has been this missing part in our lives.
“So when we had to call off the tour this year, I thought it was a sign. I believe everything happens for a reason, and we’re not getting any younger.”
James, 39, added: “All of our friends have children, and we can’t wait – fingers crossed – to join them.”
The couple have spoken in the past of their desire to start a family.
Last year, Ola told Hello! magazine she felt pressure to become a mother as people were always asking her when she would have children.
“I’m at a certain age now when people sort of look at you and think, right are you going to have a family or not?” she said.
“I’m 34, I’m going to be 35 at the end of this year, most of my friends have children and the ones who are my age that don’t, they know they don’t want children. Every time I see my mum or dad they ask about grandkids, so I suppose it makes you think.”
In an interview with The Mirror the previous year, Ola said she understood why people asked her and James about kids, but also said they were enjoying married life and in no rush.
“It’s not rude for people to ask us though, as we’ve been married for so long,” she said.
“We’ve been together 17 years and married for 13. It’s a long time. We’re best friends and we like spending time together. Even though we work together, we spend all of our free time together too.”
Meanwhile, Ola recently joined Dancing with the Stars in her native Poland as a judge.
Sounds like they have a busy year ahead of them!
