Stephen Hawking contacted Ant and Dec after THAT ‘distasteful’ joke

The jokers got themselves into a lot of trouble

The naughty I’m A Celebrity hosts made a bit of a dodgy joke on Stephen Hawking’s expense last month.

It got EVERYBODY talking and most people found it really rude.

The joke started when Scarlett Moffatt, who has now gone on to win the show, was telling her campmates that she once tried to track down the Professor’s email address so she could explain a theory to him.

Scarlett thought she had cracked a theory on time travel. As you do…

After showing this clip, the duo launched into a sketch about the theoretical physicist.

Dec began: ‘That’s an interesting theory isn’t? It’s a shame she didn’t get in touch with Stephen Hawking via his Hotmail account.”

Ant added: “She should have asked me. I’ve got his mobile.”

The cheeky Geordie pretended to call Stephen, with a robotic voice mimicking the real professor saying: “Sorry lads it’s a load of old tosh.”

Yikes.

People lost it, and slammed the joke saying it was “wrong”, “disrespectful”, and “not cool”.

However, Mr Hawking actually found it funny!

Dec told The Mirror: “We got an email from Stephen Hawking after that.”

“He said he enjoyed her thoughts on the pyramids and enjoyed the sketch that we did in the studio. So that was a highlight.”

How cool is that?!

Talking to the other campmates in the jungle, Scarlett explained her theory: “In order to travel back in time we have to go faster than the speed of light.

“The speed of light is like 319 and then loads of numbers, it’s exactly the same latitude point as the tip of the great Pyramid.

“So I think the pyramids are from the future, I think someone from the future realised we would need them and went back in time and built them.’

Lisa Snowdon seemed really impressed and asked how she contacted him.

Scarlett replied: “Well I was trying to look for his email address, but it was a Hotmail account so I’m not too sure it’s real.”

Don’t you just love her?
