According to the station, The Steph and Dom Show “will be a hilarious take on some of the quirkiest stories in the news and what made the pair, gawp, giggle and grumble over the past week.

“Making observations with their trademark style, Steph and Dom will pass judgement on everything from what’s making the front pages to the latest TV and showbiz news, with some hilarious no-nonsense advice.”

It’s these witty observations that viewers came to love the couple for on Gogglebox, which they revealed they would be “taking a break from” in 2017.

Since then, they’ve been “Hunted” for Stand Up To Cancer, and had their own TV show on Channel 5 called One Star to Five Star, where they tried to help guest houses turn their ailing businesses around.

Now they will be let loose on the airwaves every Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 1pm, while the show will also be available to catch-up on via the talkRADIO app.

The couple from Kent, who have been married for more than two decades and have two children and a beloved dog Gigi, said they can’t wait to become radio stars.

Steph said: “Only talkRADIO could be brave enough to unleash us live on the airwaves. We have the perfect antidote to your weekend hangovers as Gogglebox meets radio… or should that be Newsnight meets Noel’s House Party…

“We’ll hunt down all the quirkiest stories and must-watch telly of the week for a leisurely late morning of carnage, Steph and Dom style.”

Don jokingly added: “10am at the weekend… who agreed to that? I’m going to kill her!”

talkRADIO programme director Dennie Morris said they are delighted to bag the affable pair and said they are “guaranteed to get you talking and keep you laughing.”
