EastEnders star Patsy Palmer is seriously NOT HAPPY with Abi Branning’s death

But she's full of praise for Lorna Fitzgerald

Former EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer has joined the debate over whether or not show bosses were right to kill off Abi Branning, with Patsy firmly believing they were wrong.

The actress, who played Abi’s cousin Bianca Jackson in the BBC One soap on and off since 1993, took to Instagram to air her views about the character’s death.

Commenting on a post on Abi actress Lorna Fitzgerald’s Insta page, Patsy wrote: “You are a beautiful actress @lornafitzgerald killed off another strong woman character … tut tut.”

Patsy then responded to a fan comment – which said producers only killed Abi off to get ratings – in agreement.

Abi finally died during Friday night’s instalment of the soap, having been in a coma for the past three weeks.

She’d been declared brain-stem dead after suffering catastrophic head injuries sustained when she fell from the roof of The Vic on Christmas Day.

Abi and her sister Lauren had both been trying to coax their suicidal dad, Max, down when Lauren slipped and fell – dragging Abi down with her.

The Brannings eventually made the decision to switch her life support off after doctors revealed Abi had zero chance of ever recovering.

Abi – who was seven months pregnant when she fell – gave birth to a daughter who was delivered by an emergency c-section.

It’s not yet known what the family will call the baby, or who will bring her up now both her parents are dead.

Lauren’s former fiance, Steven Beale, fathered the baby during an affair with Abi behind her sister’s back.

He died last year when a vengeful Max shoved him into a table, resulting in internal bleeding.

Fans are hoping that Lauren will raise her sister’s baby, along with her own son, and move to Glasgow with her new boyfriend Josh.

Meanwhile Patsy – who quit EastEnders for a new life in LA back four years ago – is living a quiet life in Malibu these days, but her children are following in her famous footsteps.

Her eldest son, Charley Palmer Rothwell, has appeared in some of the biggest movies of the past couple of years.

He was in Dunkirk with Harry Styles and starred in Legend alongside Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour.

He was also in Netflix’s sci-fi movie iBoy opposite Games of Thrones star Maisie Williams and auditioned for Deadpool 2, though he narrowly missed out on the part.

Meanwhile younger brother Fenton Merkell, a model, has his foot firmly on the A-list ladder as the boyfriend of supermodel Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber, 16.

Can you imagine gobby Bianca hanging out with Cindy Crawford??
