New mum Stacey Solomon has finally confirmed her newborn son’s name – and the very special reason behind it.
Taking to Instagram on his due date, the Loose Women star posted a new black and white image of the adorable tot sound asleep, wrapped in blankets.
And, she revealed, her and partner Joe Swash’s kids – Stacey’s sons Leighton and Zachary, and Joe’s son Harry – were instrumental in picking the new addition’s name.
She revealed: “Rex Toby Francis Swash. Due today, born 23.05.2019 on my Mummy’s birthday.”
Explaining their choice of name, Stacey continued: “Rex because our boys think he sounds like a T-Rex. Francis is Joe’s Nanna’s name and Toby is my Nanna’s name.”

The new mum also revealed why it’s taken her so long to reveal Rex’s name.
She said: “It’s taken us this long to announce the name because for some strange, probably hormone and post birth related, reason I didn’t want to do it until his official due date.”
Famous friends were quick to comment on the picture, with TV presenter Davina McCall commenting on the tot’s uncanny likeness to his dad.
She said: “Oh my god it’s Joe!”

Proud dad Joe shared the same picture and said: “Welcome to the world REX TOBY FRANCIS SWASH!!”
Stacey had previously shared a now-deleted video in which she called the tot Rexi, promoting fans to speculate that the star had accidentally revealed his name.
Stacey’s photographer father, proud grandad David Solomon, also shared new pictures of the tot, including a gorgeous black and white shot of Stacey and Joe gazing adoringly at their new son.
New mum Stacey also opened up about breastfeeding Rex. Sharing an early-morning video to Instagram Stories, the sound of Stacey’s breast pump could be heard as she expressed milk.
Alongside the video, she commented: “The sound of insanity.”
Posting a picture of a bottle with less than 1oz of milk in it, Stacey added: “Half an hour later… It’s like getting blood from a stone.”
However, come morning the star’s breastfeeding woes seemed to be long forgotten, as Stacey posted a cute tribute to her sleeping newborn.
Uploading a picture of Rex sound asleep in his cot, with his cute little outfits hanging on a rail behind him, she said: “Laying beside you is everything I dreamed and more… I love you so much.”
