Loose Women’s Stacey Solomon brings baby Rex to work as she finishes maternity leave

She had Rex in May

Presenter Stacey Solomon has shared a message of support for working mums as she returned to work – and took baby Rex with her.

The Loose Women star, 29, took to social media to reveal she felt “really emotional” her maternity leave had come to an end.

Alongside two snaps of herself with Rex, the mum-of-three said she felt “lucky” to be able to bring the tot to a job she “absolutely” loves doing, and reflected on how difficult it must be for working mums with “really tough” jobs that don’t accomodate their duties as a mothers.

In one snap, Stacey smiled for the camera as she cuddled Rex, while the other showed her breastfeeding him in work.

She captioned the post: “Did my first full day back at work today. So, this is an appreciation post for all of those mothers who have to leave their babies and go back to work.

“I felt really emotional today but the reality for me was that I was able to bring Rex with me, to a job that I absolutely love, doing something I really enjoy. I sat for a long time today just thinking about how lucky I am.

“And I couldn’t help but spend a lot of time thinking about women with really tough jobs, ones they may not even like doing. Jobs that aren’t understanding. The jobs that don’t allow you the chance to continue to work and also allow you to include your child in some way.

“Those people who don’t have understanding, companionate colleagues and bosses. Those that are doing all they can to survive and don’t have a choice as to weather they ‘want’ to go back to work or not.”

Writing further, Stacey recalled having Zachary, her eldest son, and how she went back to college and work in a fish and chip shop soon after he was born.

She continued: “I’d only see [Zachary] before I dropped him off in the college crèche and then when I got home about 10 after my shift.

“I’m so lucky that that’s not the case this time around.”
