Stacey Solomon reacts to criticism over “controversial” hair decision

As she says, you can't ever please everyone!

Stacey Solomon made headlines last week when she debuted a new, curly hairdo on Loose Women.

The 28-year-old cited her hair inspiration as fellow Loose Woman Nadia Sawalha, Chloe Lewis from TOWIE and 80s icons like Baby from Dirty Dancing.

However, not everyone was a fan…

Writing in her latest column for Fabulous magazine, the mum of two said she felt amazing after getting her hair done, and everyone in the Loose Women studios complimented her on the makeover.

It was only after the show went off air and she looked on Twitter she saw some of the rather mean comments from viewers comparing her to everything from Medusa to a Pot Noodle.

Stacey joked her hair makeover was “one of the most controversial” decisions she’s ever made.

But, ever the optimist, she said: “I wasn’t upset by the comments – in fact I thought they were hilarious. You can’t please all the people all of the time, and I don’t expect them to like everything I wear or do.”

Stacey conceded “it wasn’t the reaction I had hoped for” but added: “Even so, I’m so glad I gave it a go and tried something new. I don’t want to be the same all the time and changing my hair is loads of fun.

“Let’s face it, if you never try you will never know.”

Wise words, Stacey!

And, as she pointed out, plenty of people left lovely compliments as well, saying how much they liked her cute new ‘do.

She even poked fun at it all by tweeting a link to her Fabulous column on Monday with the words: “When you try something different and it doesn’t go down too well, better to have given it a go than never know, I say… Lots of Love, Pot Noodle head.”

Fans were quick to lavish Stacey with compliments and tell her not to take any notice of negative remarks.

Even celeb pal Michelle Heaton got in on the action, tweeting: “Ha ha, I love it gorgeous girl!”
