Stacey Solomon divides opinion with unusual footwear choice at NTAs

Are you a fan of the look?

Stacey Solomon was among the stars who walked the red carpet at the National Television Awards last night.

But rather than squeezing into a pair of uncomfortable, sky high heels, the star opted for comfy trainers instead – just as she’d promised she would do on Loose Women!

A girl after our own hearts!

Stacey, 28, teamed her trainers with a pretty purple satin dress, which hung just off-the-shoulder and fell to the knee.

Plenty of fans praised Stacey for opting for comfy shoes on her big night, rather than struggling to walk and teetering up the red carpet in stiletto heels.

One fan on Instagram wrote: “Love the trainers! So many ladies there looked amazing but clearly couldn’t walk – so you got the right idea.”

Another said: “Love it. I always say I’d love to wear my trainers out on a night out but never have the balls too. Heels are just a pain especially when u want a good dance.”

A third added: “Fabulous!! Love how you actually did it & wore your trainers … AND ROCKED them with your gorgeous dress.”

Others, however, just weren’t keen on the whole trainers plus dress combo at a glitzy black tie event.

“Really? Why trainers with a dress,” wrote one fan. “You could of done FLAT shoes… you could of still danced all night in flat shoes hun x (sic).”

Another wrote: “A beautiful girl inside and out … call me old fashioned but trainers on the red carpet?”

A third added: “I usually like you but you look a mess. Someone needs to be honest with you.”

Others were on the fence, saying they weren’t sure about the ensemble, but they totally appreciated why Stacey chose comfort over heels.

One fan wrote: “Let’s be honest, it’s not a great look but I’m sure you had no problems walking. Good on you for doing what most girls do after a night out. Take their heels off and walk home bare-footed. This is just the same thing but without the black feet in the morning.”

Unfortunately for Stacey and the Loose Women gang, they lost out on the Best Daytime show award to This Morning.

But showing there are no hard feelings, Stacey said last night: “NTAs was soooooo much fun!!! My Loose Women family are my everything! So proud to be a Loose Women and even though we didn’t win after the night we had I feel like we won BIG! Love u all!!!!”

Aww!
