Pregnant Stacey Solomon hits back at backlash over her “hairy” armpits

She wants people to stop being offended by women's body hair

Heavily pregnant Stacey Solomon has hit back after being criticised for revealing her unshaved armpits on Instagram.

The Loose Women star was filming a swimming class with her two sons when she received the comments about her body hair.

She shared an Instagram video of Zachary, 11, and Leighton, seven, playing in the water and her underarms could be seen in the shot.

But the 29-year-old voiced her shock that some people then bothered to comment unkindly on her body.

She ranted on her Instagram Story: “Baffled at the hairy armpit comments. I honestly didn’t notice them.”

Stacey then spoke up for all women and aired her frustration about the negative attitude towards female body hair.

She said: “When are we going to be less offended by women who may not want to or have just forgotten to shave for a few weeks (months, maybe years).”

The heavily pregnant star, who is expecting her first child with Joe Swash in a matter of weeks, probably has more on her mind than making sure she’s silky smooth!

Stacey revealed she is now getting her home ready for their new arrival.

Stacey has also been vocal about her reluctance to shave in the past. She revealed she often leaves her leg hair to grow, too.

She said in her Fabulous column last year: “To all the women who think waxing, shaving and grooming is the bane of their life and wish they didn’t have to do it – you don’t.”

“And if people don’t like you because you have normal body hair on your legs, they’re not worth knowing.”
