Stacey Dooley reveals tough reality of Strictly Come Dancing tour

Shares a painful shot of post-show feet.

After walking away with the Glitterball trophy, Stacey Dooley has shared a painful look at what being a Strictly Come Dancing champion really means.

The presenter is on tour with the rest of the Strictly crew, and she shared some backstage videos from last night’s show in Birmingham.

After sharing a glammed up shot to Instagram Stories to celebrate the teams third show, she revealed something altogether more harrowing: her aching feet in a bucket of ice water.

Stacey showed her feet – complete with flawless nail polish – resting in a plastic bucket backstage, with the caption: “This is no joke kids.”

Hopefully the ice helped – as those feet are being put through two shows today, with an afternoon matinee before the evening performance.

Stacey won last year’s season of the hit dance show, with her pro partner Kevin Clifton.

She beat out runners up Joe Sugg, Faye Tozer, and Ashley Roberts to claim the trophy.

And while she’s now on tour with all three of the contestants she beat, the man that helped steer her to victory is no longer at her side.

Kevin accepted a role in a touring production of Rock of Ages, leaving Aljaz Skorjanec to step in as Stacey’s dance partner.

He was there to support her as the tour kicked off, however, as he was in the audience at yesterday’s show cheering the whole cast on.

The dancer posted a shot from the arena earlier today, showing him smiling in the audience, and commenting that it was an “awesome show”.

The team have one more day in Birmingham, with their final performance there taking place tomorrow night.

They’ll then head off to Leeds. The tour finishes off with a two-night stint in London in February.
