Ross had acid thrown in his face last month after Debbie Dingle paid Dales drug dealer Simon to attack Joe Tate.

But Ross ended up as the victim in a case of mistaken identity after stealing Joe’s car.

Ross has been struggling with anxiety since the horrific scenes, but has held a glimmer of hope that eventually his face would heal and return to normal.

He hoped a skin graft would repair the damage and leave him looking as he did before the attack, but his hopes are about to be dashed when a doctor tells him nothing can be done.

Ross breaks down after hearing he will never be the same again.

The surgeon tells him: “Having a skin graft will leave a permanent scar, but it’s a better quality scar than you have currently.

“The scars will lessen over time but they won’t vanish”

A devastated Ross replies: “What? So I go through all that, more pain, more ops and for what?

“It’s not you they’re cutting and pasting, is it? So excuse me if I’m a little hacked off.

“No, no way. This is not happening. You heard her, this is it. This is what I am.”

Viewers have seen Ross struggle to come to terms with the extent of his injuries, refusing to leave the house as he’s worried people are staring at him.
