Scheming Robert Sugden hits rock bottom when he puts himself in terrible danger over Christmas – and we can’t say we feel sorry for him!
Robert’s already feeling pretty low, having been shut out from baby Seb’s life after Rebecca sneaked away from the village because of his scheming.
And he’s struggling to cope with ex Aaron Dingle moving on with handsome doctor Alex Mason, after Liv played matchmaker.
Of course Robert doesn’t know that things aren’t going brilliantly between Aaron and Alex either.

Poor Aaron is feeling too self-conscious about the scars left from his self-harming to strip off in front of his new fella.
But all Robert sees his is ex finding someone new, and he’s not happy about it.
As Christmas approaches and Robert finds himself alone, he starts to feel pretty bad about things (we don’t like to say he deserves everything he’s getting, but he totally does).

He tries to give Lawrence some Christmas presents to pass on to baby Seb, but Lawrence is – not surprisingly – completely not interested in helping Robert out.
Things get even worse for sad Mr Sugden when he clocks Aaron and Alex hanging out together at the pub.
Jealous and upset, Robert ends up humiliating himself completely by insulting Alex and making a very clumsy attempt to win Aaron back.
With his whole life in tatters, Rob grabs a bottle of whisky and drunkenly stumbles off down a dark country lane, which as we all know means sure and certain danger in Emmerdale.
What’s going to happen to lonely Robert? And can anyone come to his rescue?
