Lauren Branning’s potential happy ending on EastEnders as exit looms

Will she get a happy ever after?

| Updated:

We’ve known for a few months now that Lauren Branning’s time in Walford will be coming to an end very soon, but is there a chance that EastEnders have lined up a happy ending for her?

Surely that can’t be right?

Not that Lauren doesn’t deserve a happy ever after. In fact, of all the current EE characters she probably deserves one the most after her battle with booze, her brother dying, her relationship with her cousin, running over her dad and her best friend being murdered.

But ‘Enders doesn’t usually do happy endings, does it?

Anyway, after the fallout from her dad’s epic revenge plan, Lauren plans on starting a new life away from Albert Square with Josh Hemmings.

Their relationship strengthens in the run up to Christmas, with the pair teaming up against Josh’s dad, uber-villain James Willmott-Brown.

But Lauren is left worried after she and Josh spend the night together, concerned about Ian Beale finding out and being seen as moving on from part of his family too soon.

When Josh tells her he’s been offered a job in Glasgow and wants her to go with him, Lauren starts to come round to the idea, especially now her relationships with Max and Abi are in tatters.

And after that dressing down she gave Stacey in Thurday’s episode, she’s probably lost her primary childminder too.

Lauren tells Abi that she’s planning on moving away, but her sister doesn’t seem bothered in the slightest.

She puts off telling Ian her plans, but the truth comes spilling out when he catches her and Josh kissing.

Surprisingly Ian isn’t too happy and dishes out some harsh words to Lauren.
