Coronation Street SPOILER: Jenny and Johnny’s marriage suffers after Aidan’s suicide

The couple are rocked to their core...

Aidan Connor’s tragic suicide will have devastating consequences for everyone in Weatherfield.

But, of course, none more so than his devoted dad Johnny and step-mum Jenny.

In the aftermath of Aidan’s death, Coronation Street fans will see the couple struggling to come to terms with events as their marriage comes under strain.

Tragically, Johnny is the one who finds Aidan’s body in next week’s hour-long special on Wednesday (9 May).

When Aidan fails to turn up for work, Johnny innocently thinks his son has slept in, so he lets himself in to his flat – only to find a letter from Aidan explaining he has taken his own life.

Utter devastation follows, as the family and residents of the Street let the terrible news sink in that the factory owner is dead.

In the days after, Johnny becomes convinced that something must have happened to cause Aidan to take his own life. He blames himself for failing to see what Aidan must have been going through.

Meanwhile, Jenny feels utterly useless. No stranger to grief, her own four-year-old son Tom drowned in a paddling pool, another tragedy that possibly could have been prevented.

Things come to a head next Friday (11 May), when Johnny continues to beat himself up, wishing that he’d done more to help his son.

Jenny does her best to comfort Johnny, but he snaps at her and leaves her upset.

Can the Corrie couple survive this horrible ordeal and find solace in each other?
