It’s no secret that Ben Mitchell will bow out of EastEnders this Christmas, and actor Harry Reid has revealed more exciting plot details.
Although he’s not revealed exactly how his character will be departing the Square (of course!) we know that Ben is caught up in the middle of some very dark storylines involving his boyfriend Luke Browning, James Willmot-Brown and Ben’s mum, Kathy Beale.
Harry spoke to radio station 103 The Eye yesterday to talk about his departure… and not only was the interview his first ever live chat on the radio, but he also did it from the comfort of his own bed. As you do!
Talking about how Ben will bow out of the soap, he told 103 The Eye presenter Johnathan McGrady, that his exit is “exciting, it’s typical Ben.”
Harry also admitted that “there’s two sides to all of Ben’s stories.” Hmm, cryptic.

He then continued, “It’s a big storyline and it will have people vouching for different sides,” he revealed.
Although he’s obviously going to be keeping the finer details of how he’s exiting the show under wraps, Harry admitted, “It might kick off a little bit.” Well, it wouldn’t be Christmas in Walford if it didn’t, would it?
The biggest question is, will the door be left open for Harry to return in the future, or will Ben be departing in a bodybag? Harry’s fans certainly hope it’s the former…
