The week doesn’t get off to the best of starts when Carmel catches Shakil and Keegan Taylor using Kush’s flat to impress some girls.

And when the school gets in touch with her requesting a meeting about Shakil, she thinks the worst.

But Carmel is pleasantly surprised when the teacher tells her about a specialist music college his friend runs over the summer for talented students and suggests Shakil applies.

She’s cross though when  Shakil is reluctant to apply and pays a visit to Karen Taylor, blaming Keegan for her son’s attitude.

Meanwhile Keegan is trying to encourage Shakil to go for it, pointing out it’s not the sort of offer he gets everyday.

Will Shakil listen to his friend?

It’s rumoured that the BBC soap is planning to kill off Carmel’s youngest son in a shock knife crime storyline set to air in the coming weeks.

The soap has been working alongside former star Brooke Kinsella who tragically lost her younger brother Ben in a stabbing incident in London ten years ago.

She said of the new storyline: “The pain will never go away. I commend EastEnders for choosing to portray the realities of knife crime. It destroys lives.

“This storyline will bring home how it damages lives of victims, offenders, their families and friends for ever.”

Although the BBC hasn’t confirmed Shakil’s departure, they have said both he and Keegan will feature in the hard-hitting storyline.

The teens will be set upon by knife-carrying thugs and reports in various publications including The Sun and Digital Spy suggest Shakil could lose his life in the horrific attack.
