Emmerdale SPOILER: Adam Barton’s fate revealed in tonight’s hour-long Emmerdale special

Will he go to prison for a crime he didn’t commit?

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale is set to be huge for Adam Barton as his fate is finally revealed.

It’s no secret that Adam Thomas, who plays Adam Barton, is leaving the show, but viewers have so far been kept in the dark about exactly how he will depart the Dales.

The hour-long special tonight will go head-to-head with EastEnders, who are also showing a double episode at 7pm.

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale, Adam’s day gets off to a bad start when his solicitor warns him that his potential sentencing for Emma Barton’s murder could range from six to ten years.

But considering the severity of the crime he’s confessed to, there is also a terrifying chance that Adam could be facing spending the rest of his life in prison.

Moira is desperate to save her son from going to jail for a crime that she committed – but will she be able to save Adam at the last moment?

She’s already told police that she is Emma’s murderer, but after Adam heard she’d confessed, he told police an elaborate story about what happened the night Emma died – making him look like the guilty one.

But in tonight’s episode, it’s been revealed that Moira’s given fresh hope that she can get her boy out of prison – stopping him going down for a crime he didn’t commit.

Harriet Finch is intrigued when she spots Moira saying an emotional goodbye to little baby Isaac – but what is the new mum up to?

As she sets out to make things a right for her son, viewers will watch Moira put her plan into action in tonight’s visit to Emmerdale.

But will she really be able to get her son off the hook for a murder charge? And if Adam isn’t going to jail for Emma’s death – who is?

As Adam’s departure draws nearer, could he be facing spending the rest of his life in jail?  Or will Moira be the one doing a stretch inside?
