The head judge quickly turned around to do it up before saying “let’s start that again” as he returned to posing for photographs.

He also commented on Ant McPartlin’s return to host the series, following an absence on screen last year.

Asked if was pleased Ant and Declan Donnelly were working together again, he said: “Of course, I’ve missed them.

“But now I can rib him. You have no idea what’s coming.”

Ant took a break from presenting duties following a drink-driving arrest.

He and Dec shared a photograph of themselves together on social media as they headed to the auditions.

On Friday, the Geordie duo reunited for the auditions and Ant was greeted with a standing ovation as he walked on stage.

According to The Mirror, Dec told the crowd: “We’ve got a bunch of acts backstage who are eager to get out here and perform for you.

“The judges are back, the buzzers are back… and someone else is back.

“My co-host for this series, would you please welcome – Mr Ant McPartlin!”

Ant seemed completely choked at his warm welcome, as he gave Dec a huge hug and looked out to the audience.

“Oh god, I’m really, really emotional now. I’ve missed you all,” he said, adding to 43-year-old Dec: “As for you! I’ve missed you.”

Joking that he might break out the water works, Ant continued: “What a lovely welcome. What a great show to come back to. I’m thrilled, I’m over the moon.

It was the first time the infamous duo had been together for work since Ant took a break from the limelight following his drink-driving arrest last year.

He was given a 20-month driving ban and was fined £86,000.

Holly Willoughby then stepped in to co-host I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! with Dec.
