Simon Cowell will be remaining on the America’s Got Talent judging panel for the foreseeable future, after signing a new deal to stay on the show.
The deal is reportedly worth £25 million and ensures that Simon will continue to be billed as an executive producer on the show.
It also ensures that Simon’s company, Syco, would remain part of the hit NBC show.
In a statement regarding the new deal, NBC’s Paul Telegdy praised Simon’s screen presence as well as his ability to create success stories out of the show’s contestants.
“Simon Cowell is an extraordinary showman whose success stories over the years on multiple continents speak for themselves,” he said.
“We are thrilled that he will continue as a judge on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and that his stewardship of the franchise will go forward for many years to come.”
Speaking on behalf of FreemantleMedia, Trish Kinane also raved about the pop mogul, pointing to his impact on the entertainment industry as a whole.
“Few people have impacted the world of entertainment as significantly as Simon Cowell,” she said.
“He knows what it takes to find and nurture talent, and he knows how to entertain an audience, creating enduring and much-loved formats.”
Simon was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, acknowledging his significance in television.
He gave a statement regarding his renewed commitment to America’s Got Talent, expressing his excitement for the upcoming years.
“I want to thank NBC for their continued passion and belief for ‘America’s Got Talent’ over the past few years,” he said.
“Without NBC, we wouldn’t be making ‘Got Talent’ and I’m very proud to work with them.
“Together, with a fantastic production team, we have been able to attract the best talent in the world. I’m very excited for the next few years.”
America’s Got Talent is currently midway through it’s 13th season, with Simon serving as judge alongside Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel.
