Simon Cowell might miss the X Factor AGAIN this weekend

No official word yet from the show - and it's Thursday!

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has had a very bad week, after suffering a scary fall last Friday that kept him out of the X Factor’s first live shows.

The music mogul had been rushed to hospital at 8am on Friday morning wearing a neck brace and presumably an expression of extreme pain.

And it was later revealed that he’d fallen down the stairs after fainting while going to the kitchen to fetch some hot milk.

And there are now concerns that Simon won’t be back for this week’s X Factor performances, either.

Radio Times has reported that while it’s looking likely that Simon will be back on his feet and back on the show this weekend, it’s far from a foregone conclusion.

And with nothing officially confirmed by the show as yet, is it possible they’re leaving it as long as possible to give Simon as much chance as possible to recover?

Last week the remaining judges Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne had to run the judges’ table by themselves.

And without Simon, we have to admit there was a little something missing!

On Sunday they were joined by Britain’s got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, who stepped in to support Simon’s “groups” category. Alesha’s an old-hand at filling in for emergencies, having also subbed in for Nicole and Sharon earlier in the series.

However, fans are no longer sure that the judges’ table is even required any more. Drastic changes to The X Factor’s format now mean that the judges aren’t responsible for saving an act from the bottom two.

Now, the entire thing is done via the public vote – it’s as simple as whoever gets the fewest votes, is booted off.

It’s also spelled the end of the emotional “sing-off” where the lowest two contestants have one last chance to save themselves.

Despite the changes to the format, it’s clear that Simon is a huge miss for the show and if they want to combat Strictly in the weekend ratings war, they’ll need him back!
