Simon Cowell is bringing back Sinitta to save The X Factor

This is just what the show needed!

With the ratings for The X Factor looking almost as bleak as EastEnders’, ITV needs something to save the day.

And Simon Cowell has come up with an idea.

Sinitta.

Yes, in case you hadn’t noticed, the 80s pop songstress has been AWOL from the show for a couple of years.

But now he has decided to bring her back to do whatever it is she does on the show.

Apparently she will be on hand to help him choose which contestants will make it through to the live shows.

What great news, eh? The nation will be pleased.

But not half as much as Sinitta is!

In fact, she is ecstatic.

“I’m going back to The X Factor this year,” she told the Sun.

“Simon has admitted he made a big mistake by replacing me with a SPICE GIRL — even though they are fabulous.

“He’s realised it’s not always about who’s the most successful or who’s made the most money. It’s about chemistry and together we have that, so he said he wants me back.”

This, of course, isn’t the first time Simon has had to eat humble pie.

Remember when he ditched Dermott O’Leary for disastrous combo that was Olly Murs and Caroline Flack and ditched Louis Walsh not once, but twice.

But according to Sinitta, Simon is happy to learn from the few errors of judgement (which also include flop bands Girl Thing and Worlds Apart)

“Simon will always admit that he’s made a mistake — it’s exactly what he did with Dermot and Louis,” she giggled at a launch recently.

“He’s not afraid to say sorry, which is admirable and manly. I respect him for that.”

But Sinitta isn’t Simon’s only secret weapon.

He is planning to cut the amount of  live shows and plans to host bootcamp at the house where Downton Abbey was shot.
