Scarlett Moffatt’s I’m A Celebrity future ‘revealed’

Will she be joining Dec Donnelly on the show?

| Updated:

Scarlett Moffatt was recently revealed to be bookies’ favourite to replace Ant McPartlin on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Earlier this month, Ant announced he’s taking the rest of the year off to focus on his recovery, therefore won’t be hosting the new series in November.

There’s been much speculation about who (if anyone) will join Ant’s best pal Dec Donnelly to host the show, with Scarlett and Britian’s Got Talent’s Stephen Mulhern tipped as likely contenders.

However, according to The Sun, Scarlett will likely not be replacing Ant as she will again be hosting the spinoff show Extra Camp alongside comedian Joel Dommett and Joe Swash.

And she couldn’t really host the main show and spinoff show, could she?

But an insider did say that could change because bosses are still debating whether they need someone to co-host with Dec or whether he should go solo.

The source told the publication: “She signed ages ago but there’s still speculation on her fronting the show with Dec. Bosses still don’t know if they will replace Ant, but it’s equally possible that Dec will do it on his own.”

ED! has contacted Scarlett’s rep for comment.

Meanwhile, a rep for ITV said: “We’ll confirm our ITV2 Extra Camp presenting line up in due course.”

Last week, the Geordie favourite was in pole position to land the prestigious role with William Hill placing the star’s odds of joining Dec at 2/1.

And experts at Paddy Power put her odds on at 5/6 while Coral had the brunette at 3/1 to bag the stint.

It came after Ant, 42, revealed he won’t be returning to TV until next year, following his stint in rehab for drink issues and painkiller addiction and his drink-drive arrest in March.

In a statement shared to his and Dec’s website, the star said: “My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”

Meanwhile, Dec admitted he’s “sad” that Ant won’t be joining him but he’s “fully supportive” of his decision.
