Scarlett Moffatt reassures fans all is okay after they notice worrying social media change

It's so easy to start a social media panic these days...

| Updated:

It’s tough being a celebrity these days with eagle-eyed fans watching your every move on social media.

All it takes is an unfollow or not posting a picture with your other half for a few days for split rumours to start circulating – and we all know how quickly those can get out of hand.

Unfortunately for Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, that’s just what happened this week, when fans apparently got all whipped into a frenzy after noticing she had unfollowed boyfriend Luke Crodden on Instagram.

Now, we all know how easy it is to do something by accident on social media – a slip of the thumb and you’ve mistakenly liked a post while surreptitiously stalking someone else’s account. Oops.

Another slip and you’ve retweeted something instead of scrolling past it.  These things happen.

But when you’re in the public eye, these things become headline news.

According to The Sun, fans began to panic when someone spotted Luke was no longer among the 180-odd people followed by Scarlett on Instagram which, inevitably, led to rumours the pair had quietly split.

Well, thankfully that’s not the case, as a rep for Scarlett insisted they are “100 per cent still together” and fans have nothing to worry about.

Scarlett has since started following Luke on Instagram again.

So basically it was all much ado about nothing!

However, the fans’ concerns weren’t without precedent: the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner did briefly split with Luke earlier this year.

They confirmed in July that they were giving romance another go after their shock split in February.

Rumours that the ex couple had reunited first filtered through in June, when a source told The Sun that hairdresser Luke had moved back into Scarlett’s home.

“Her life was manic after the jungle and she wanted to focus on her work,” said the insider.

“The following months were critical for her career, which is why she needed space from Luke.

“Now that Scarlett is more settled, she and Luke have been seeing a lot more of each other and have decided to make it official.”

They had been dating for more than a year before their brief break.

Their split had come as a shock to fans as just three months before, Scarlett had revealed in an interview she was hoping Luke might propose.

Before jetting off to Australia for I’m A Celebrity, she told The Mirror that she’d been dropping major hints to Luke about her favourite type of ring.

“I pointed out which one I liked and what my ring size is, just so Luke knows which one to get in the future.

“If that isn’t a hint, I don’t know what is,” she joked.

Are you listening, Luke?!
