Scarlett Moffatt tipped to host Bake Off on Channel 4

Channel 4 seemingly has great plans for Gogglebox favourite

She was recently crowned the Queen of the Jungle after a successful stint on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, and now it seems things might get even better for Scarlett Moffatt’s TV career.

The Gogglebox star is reportedly one of the names lined up for the new series of Great British Bake Off when the show moves to Channel 4 next year.

The popular baking programme has been hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins since it began in 2010 but they both announced they would leave after the show was sold by production company Love Productions to the channel, after being broadcast since its birth by the BBC.

According to The Mirror, a source said: “Scarlett is now a serious contender – she opened a lot of eyes to her potential on I’m A Celebrity.

“She is young, very funny and just the type of presenter Channel 4 are looking for to front their version of the show.”

The insider added: “Scarlett may be inexperienced but the thinking is she could be paired with a more senior co-host.”

The newspaper cited the likes of Victoria Coren Mitchell, Sandi Toskvig and Davina McCall as potential co-hosts for the series to work alongside the 26-year-old.

After winning the hearts of the nation appearing with her parents on their sofa for Gogglebox, Scarlett went on to beat the likes of TV veterans Carol Vorderman and Larry Lamb in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
