Sarah Harding has tweeted ‘frenemy’ Cheryl – and their social media fans can’t cope

The two have not been on speaking terms for some time

It was recently revealed that some members of the former girlband Girls Aloud don’t get along and haven’t kept in touch since the band split.

One of the members, Nadine Coyle, admitted to The Sun that Cheryl and Sarah Harding don’t speak.

Nadine said she was the only one to wish Sarah good luck as she went into Celebrity Big Brother.

It also came around the same time that Cheryl unfollowed Sarah on social media. Nadine wasn’t shocked by this.

She explained: “I’m not surprised, no. If you don’t like somebody, just be genuine about it. You don’t have to be anything else. I don’t think Sarah’s surprised either, it’s to be expected.”

But what has shocked fans now is finally Cheryl and Sarah have acknowledged one another’s existence on social media, as the pair sent tweets to each other.

Sarah seemed to extend a so-called olive branch to Cheryl today when she tweeted her old pal about one of her songs that she loved.

Cheryl had asked her fans to tell her which songs from her four solo albums they would’ve liked to have been released as singles, and Sarah waded in.

Sarah replied to Cheryl’s tweet saying that she loves Fight For This Love, which Cheryl released in 2009.

Sarah said: “Hey stranger!… U know FFTL will always be the one #TrueToTheGame,” she also sweetly added a thumbs up and a blowing kiss emoji.

Fans were surprised when Cheryl tweeted back, also with a blowing kiss emoji, simply replying: “#alwaystrue”.

They both received hundreds of retweets and likes from fans as they went into a meltdown at the sweet exchange.

During a chat with Jemma Lucy while in the Celebrity Big Brother house a few months ago, Sarah revealed she hadn’t spoken to Cheryl for a long time.

She said: “I haven’t spoken to her in a while,” to which Jemma asked her if they’d had a falling out.

Sarah explained: “Everyone asks that but we’re so busy with our own stuff.

“It’s not for me to say. Honestly, it’s not for me to say. I don’t like talking about the other girls if it’s a personal thing.

“I mean, we were like sisters, so of course it would never be plain sailing the whole time.”

She added: “Being around girls all the time is difficult, you know?

“Nothing lasts forever. We went though so much, even if we had fallen out, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a major deal in the future.”
