Samia Longchambon makes a surprising revelation about her marriage

The couple have celebrated their first wedding anniversary

It has been five years since Samia and Sylvain Longchambon found love on Dancing On Ice – but Samia has revealed that they almost never met at all…

The pair have revealed to OK! magazine what it is like to be a real life couple on the skating reality TV show – and unsurprisingly Samia describes the whole experience as ‘life changing’.

But, it seems there was a chance they might have never met at all when the Coronation Street actress almost didn’t take part in the show…

“Weirdly, it’s the one reality show I always said I wouldn’t do because it was so dangerous,” she revealed to the magazine.

“I’m very happy that I did do it now – if we hadn’t been skating partners I’d never have met Sylvain.”

Sylvain has returned to Dancing On Ice this year for the newly revamped show – and this time he’s partnered with another soap actress – Hollyoaks’ Stephanie Waring.

Samia and Sylvain tied the knot in a star studded wedding ceremony in August 2016, surrounded by their friends from both Coronation Street and Dancing On Ice.

The couple’s son, two-year-old Yves, was a groomsman, while Samia’s eight-year-old daughter, Freya, from previous relationship was bridesmaid.

While the pair might struggle to find much time to spend together with Samia filming for Corrie and Sylvain training for Dancing On Ice, Samia’s revealed that she loves nothing more than watching her husband skate…

“Skating is Sylvain’s passion and it’s what he was trained to do his whole life. I feel so proud watching him do something he’s really good at.”

Luckily for the couple, Stephanie Waring is also based in Manchester, meaning the professional skater doesn’t have to go too far for rehearsals.

Sylvain revealed to the glossy magazine that Stephanie hopes to go far in the competition and has admitted she would love to win: “She has been working very hard, she wants to do well for her two daughters, Lexi and Mia.”
