Sam Smith snubs Matt Terry at X Factor final

Pop hopeful had hoped to perform with the global icon!

One of our greatest X Factor memories is that amazing sing off between Alexandra Burke and Beyonce at the Christmas 2008 final.

You may recall, the eventual winner banged out a rousing rendition of the Dreamgirls song Listen with the star of the film.

Since then, however, the X Factor have failed to match that moment of crazy with a team up of such high calibre. Back in 2013, poor Sam Bailey got lumbered with that year’s judge Nicole Scherzinger, who proceeded to outing her (the minx).

While Little Mix fared worse, having to sing with their mentor Tulisa when they won the show in 2011.

So imagine everyone’s excitement when it was reported that global superstar Sam Smith was being lined up to sing with Matt Terry, after he wowed viewers with his recent performance of Writing On The Wall.

But now Matt has made it through the final by the skin of his teeth, he has been rocked to discover that Sam is not going ti appear on the show after all.

Or so the ever reliable Daly Star have reported.

A source told the paper: “Matt’s best performance of the whole series was singing Writing’s On The Wall. Sam loved his version so it seemed the perfect plan to put them together.’

“There’s still a slim chance but it doesn’t look like it will happen now,” added the source.

This will come as a blow to Matt who said over the weekend: “To sing that song again with Sam Smith would be the dream. It would be such an honour.

“Sam messaged me afterwards saying it was unreal and how proud he was that I smashed it. To have his support is amazing.”

Meanwhile in the news, the same paper has revealed that two X Factor stars are having a top secret gay romance.

It’s believed the two hooked up at boot camp and have been seeing each other since. Their friends and family are aware of the relationship but their mentor isn’t.

It’s unclear whether the lovebirds made it to the live shows, though online rumours are rife about which fellas have hooked up. Good luck to ’em!
