Sam Faiers sparks huge parenting debate over one-year-old son Paul

The star will soon be welcoming her second child

Soon-to-be mum-of-two Sam Faiers has sparked a huge parenting debate on her latest Instagram post as she asked her followers for advice about her one-year-old son Paul.

The former TOWIE star is always keeping her fans updated with how much baby Paul is growing up but the star was keen to ask her fans if they think she should set up a separate social media account for her toddler.

Many of her 1.9 million followers loved the idea while others weren’t keen on the prospect saying “let children be children”.

Sharing a super adorable throwback snap of her baby boy Sam, 26, wrote: “Throwback to when paul was 8 months old 😩😭 #timeisprecious.

“I wanted to ask your advice, I have a lot of messages, dms, tweets & comments on Paul most of the time and find it hard to respond, reply to everything.

“Should I make him a separate account? I can post and tag outfits, toys, days out etc – like a baby/toddler blog? Comment below. Sam x.”

Some were very keen on the idea as one commented: “Yes, definitely. He’s absolutely gorgeous!”

Another agreed: “YES YES YES ABSOLUTELY ADORE HIM.”

“Definitely then he can always look back on it as he grows up,” a third pointed out.

Meanwhile others were shocked at the doting mum’s idea.

One wrote: “No – If he can’t type in his own password then no to his own Instagram account. Time is precious – let children be children.”

Another added: “He’s a baby…….NO!!”

“I’d say no. You are in effect creating a brand out of him,” one commented.

A fourth agreed: “No! He is adorable, but this is too far. Let him make his own choice when he grows up. Makes me sad when parents push media on their children.”

Earlier this month the pregnant star found herself at the centre of another parenting debate with her son – this time for making the transition from nappies to pull-ups.

Many of her followers branded the change “pointless” and will only “confuse” the little tot.

The star wrote: “Baby number two is on the way… so we’re also thinking about potty training with Paul!

“He’s showing some of the signs of readiness so we’re going to give it a go. We’re going to use HUGGIES Pull-Ups potty training pants and their 6 Steps to Potty Success.

“It will give baby Paul independence and me and daddy Paul more confidence to potty train with ease!”

One fan wrote: “I wouldn’t use pull ups. Its just a pointless step. Straight to pants. Pull ups is a pointless hurdle.”

Sam hit back saying: “I disagree, that may have worked for you, but this works for us 👍🏻.”

Another follower commented: “Don’t bother with pull ups, waste of time!”

“We have found it really helps. He even pulls them on his self now. Each child is different I guess,” Sam replied.

Meanwhile Sam is expecting her second child with boyfriend Paul Knightley.

The star announced the exciting news in a super cute Instagram post.

The photo shows Sam showing off her growing baby bump in a pair of grey shorts and grey crop top while holding little Paul Jr and smiling at her tot.

She captioned the snap: “Words can’t describe how excited we are to meet you baby 👶❤ We love you soo much already. #babynumber2 #2under2.”

Earlier last month Sam appeared on ITV’s This Morning where she opened up about the gender of her unborn baby.

The star admitted she feels different compared to her first pregnancy.

She told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: “I’m carrying a lot different to what I did with Paul.”

Presenter Ruth then questioned her on the sex of the baby as she asked: “Do you think it might be a girl?” Sam replied sheepishly: “It could be, we’re keeping it a surprise.

“I’ve had a nice pregnancy again, I’ve had no morning sickness or cravings but I’ve been extremely tired.”
