Ruth Langsford outraged by This Morning guest’s hunt for a wife

The singleton was on the show in search for a "young" wife

Sir Benjamin Slade appeared on This Morning today in the hope of finding his ideal wife, stating that she must be “castle-trained”.

And the 70-year-old made it very clear to hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that he has a long list of requirements that the “young” woman must have.

Viewers were left disgusted over Sir Benjamin’s “old-fashioned” views.

He went on to reveal he wanted a wife who could take care of his castle and be able to “breed”.

When asked what kind of wife he was looking for Benjamin, who is currently interviewing potential women to marry, said: “They must have a shotgun licence, a driving licence, it would help if they had a helicopter licence.

“Be able to run two castles, must be able to breed two sons, don’t mind if they’ve bred before and it’s proven.”

He even went on to add that the “candidate” would earn pocket money.

But an unimpressed Ruth asked: “Isn’t that an old-fashioned notion these days? I don’t run the house, I’m working here today.

“You’re describing a housekeeper. Are you actually looking for love?”

And it appeared he wasn’t seeking love but instead a woman “on the young side” to take care of his home while he “goes off and has fun”.

Sir Benjamin, who claims to be a “generous lover”, revealed he was fed up of dealing with “lunatic women” and wanted someone who is a “chief executive” and “fit” enough to look after his homes.

Viewers watching from home were flabbergasted by his remarks and shared their thoughts on Twitter.

One wrote: “What is this mad man on #ThisMorning. For all the money in the world I wouldn’t be this man’s ‘wife’ [sic].”

“@thismorning This guy is making me so cross! No wonder he can’t find a wife! #Thismorning,” raged another.

A third tweeted: “Why would anyone want to marry him saying he wants someone who can breed #ThisMorning.”

“@thismorning Is this guy for real? “She must be able to breed two sons” #thismorning [sic]” another added.
